ScHoolboy Q – “Druggys WitH Hoes Again (ft. Ab-Soul)” [Music Video]

Habits & Contradictions is one of the best albums released since the start of 2012, and if you haven’t listened to ScHoolboy Q’s latest offering I implore you to do so. One of my favorite tracks off of HnC is “Druggys Wit Hoes Again,” and TDE released the visuals for that one today.

Bon Iver – “Towers” [Music Video]

If you were on Twitter the night of the Grammys you may have found yourself wondering, “Who is this ‘Bonnie Bear’ everyone is tweeting about?”  Although there is no Bonnie Bear to my knowledge, there IS a band called Bon Iver who are actually kind of alright (which explains why Bon Iver won the Grammy for “Best New Artist”). Today we received the official music video for “Towers” via Bon Iver’s Vimeo, and the video is just as beautiful as the music. Be sure to watch the video all the way to the end.

Wale ft. Big Sean – “Slight Work” [Music Video]

I always thought everyone’s favorite villain Chris Brown was only good at dancing and domestic abuse, but apparently he also directs music videos, too. This song has one of my favorite beats of 2011 (thanks to the amazing Diplo), and the video actually isn’t bad. While you’re watching the video play “I Spy” and see if you can spot all of the different people in the background (hint: J. Cole is one).

Julia Holter – “In The Same Room” [Music Video]

Julia Holter’s “In The Same Room” is a wonderfully ambient pop song that is quite easy on the ears, and now we have the official video to accompany it. The beautifully nostalgic video was directed by Hilary Walsh, and this is what she had to say about the song:

When I first heard to Julia’s “In The Same Room,” I felt an inherent response to portray the song through a day dream sequence. To convey the subconscious day dream wandering and create a surreal juxtaposition, we shot on Bolex, Super 8, and digital formats, and used sun-drenched landscapes mixed with interior shots. Wyatt, the editor, layered the files to give dimensional qualities to the interior shots. The song is about trying to remember someone or specifically place someone’s face. The layering of film formats, color themes, and shoot environments sequences represents the flooding of a lifetime of memories. -Hilary Walsh, February 2012

Jack White – “Love Interruption” [Music Video]

Keeping with the Valentine’s Day theme Jack White released the visuals for his song “Love Interruption”. Be sure to check out White’s solo debut Blunderbuss when it comes out on in April.

Childish Gambino – “Heartbeat” [Music Video]

UPDATE: Gambino just released the dirty version of the video with swears and whatnot.

My relationship with Childish Gambino’s music has been a rocky one at best. Unlike many who came into his musical career with a bias related to his acting, my first impression was his music. I had never heard of Donald Glover until I started listening to Gambino, so I looked at his music from the perspective of an unbiased hip hop fan. I liked his “I Am Not A Rapper” projects a lot, and I thought his “EP” was one amazing. I was underwhelmed by his album Camp, but “Heartbeat” was one of my favorites off of that record. Fun fact: the actress insisted on their first kiss being filmed, so the kiss in the backseat was actually the first time they locked lips.

Is Earl Sweatshirt REALLY Back?

Although the whole affair has been shrouded in mystery, it appears as though Earl Sweatshirt has finally returned. If you’re a fan of OFWGKTA, you probably know that Thebe has been away in Samoa for quite some time. We have been hoaxed into believing he was home by Odd Future before, but this time it appears as though he is really back, and this time he has a Twitter account. First we received this Youtube video saying a full song would be released if he received 50,000 followers, and now we also have the full song. Check out the video and the link to the song below.

Cults – “You Know What I Mean” (Music Video)

I’ve been a fan of Cults for a while now, and I was actually listening to them last night for the first time in a while. Today the duo blessed the world with a video for their catchy, 1960’s-ish song “You Know What I Mean”. Now I’m no dermatologist, but I think that Madeline Follin should have brought Brian Oblivion to a doctor instead of a grassy field. Regardless, I would probably jump through a ring of fire too if it got Madeline Follin to serenade me. Follow the link below to watch the video over on NPR.

Rick Ross – “Yella Diamonds” (Music Video)

If you take one thing away from this video it should be that nobody fucks with El Gordito Rozay. You fuck with him, his “associates” are going to ruin your day (if not your life). All in all, this video is more or less all about flossin’ and showing what happens when you fuck with Rick Ross. Just don’t do it (unless you want to end up like Al Pacino at the end of Scarface).

St. Vincent – “Cheerleader” (Music Video)

Forget Zooey Deschanel, Annie Clark is the cutest indie music girl around right now. The video for St. Vincent’s “Cheerleader” has a strong “Gulliver’s Travels” feel to it, but I could stare at giant Annie Clark all day long.
